About The Course

The Level 5 Certificate is ideal for managers with significant responsibility for coaching and mentoring as part of their day-to-day role. It will also support those who are planning to move into a development role or start a career as a freelance business coach and mentor. Candidates who attain either the Certificate or Diploma may apply for membership of recognised Coaching bodies such as the Association of Coaching or the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC)

The programme is delivered over 6 one day workshops and action learning sessions and the participants complete 18 hours of supervised coaching and or mentoring, 1 hour supervision and three assignments.

The participants on each programme complete three units:

1. Understanding the Skills, Principles and Practice of Effective Coaching and Mentoring within an Organisational Context

2. Undertaking Effective Coaching or Mentoring within an Organisational Context

3. Reviewing Own Ability as a Coach or Mentor within an Organisational Context

The Diploma requires 7 days commitment to workshops and Action Learning Sets however they are spread much further apart and there is greater 1-1 tutorial and supervisory input between the tutor and the candidates, as the Diploma requires candidates to complete 54 hours of supervised coaching and/or mentoring with 3 hours supervision support.

In place of unit 2 above, candidates complete a separate module entitled:

4. Undertaking an Extended Period of Effective Coaching or Mentoring within an Organisational Context

The workshops are delivered over one period of 6-7 months for the Certificate or 9-12 months for the Diploma. A full timetable is available on request.
